Seven most common attacks in Bridport

Master Horst D. Lindenau is the only martial arts teacher in Bridport who teaches self defence in combination with the seven most common attacks. We believe it does not make much sense to train just any martial arts techniques and ignore the reality in the streets.

The seven most common attacks according to law enforcement

1. One person pushes, hands to chest, which is normally followed by the pusher striking first, to the head.

2. A swinging punch to the head.

3. A front clothing grab, one handed, followed by punch to the head.

4. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a head butt.

5. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a knee to the groin.

6. A bottle, glass, or ashtray to the head.

7. A lashing kick to the groin or lower legs.

Photo was taken 1991 in the HQ of the Budo Academy Europe, where Master Horst Lindenau studied and graduated as a professional sports teacher for  Martial Arts, Yoga and Fitness.

Last Sunday a 28 year old man got stabbed five times in the town nearby during a street fight with a 41 year old man.

It all happened late night at about 2.30 am and the trouble started outside a pub and then continued along through three streets, ending with the stabbing.

Again that reminds me to a comment of the local police here, that our town doesn't need seminars,
teaching knife defence. Then I was holding a special knife defence seminar for Bridport door staff.

The younger man has been seriously injured, as to read in the daily paper. Of course, knifes can injure very badly. Interesting what a local councillor commented. He said:” We do have trouble in town centre on different occasions, that’s true. Our biggest problem is the lack of police in the town at night.

My answer to that, better safe than sorry. Get prepared. Times are not getting better unfortunately and the evil crime swoops over from big towns. Grandmaster Horst Weiland (10th Dan) is dead

 “The spirit directs, the body performs the soul combines both.”

 On Thursday, April 26, 2007, Grandmaster Horst Weiland (10th Dan Jiu-Jitsu) died after a serious illness at the age of 79. We mourn the founder of the Budo Academy Europe, Anti-Terrorkampf self-defence, but above all a unique martial artist, great master and revered teacher. His death represents an immeasurable loss for the budo world and for all those who were lucky enough to learn from him or know him.

In 1994 Master Horst Lindenau introduced the very first time this new Anti Terror Combat. He was a 2nd Dan grade than, graded by the ATKAE from Germany (Anti Terrorkampf). The group was only small but everybody was very enthusiastic about the new system and soon the numbers been growing. The dojo was at Barrack Street.in Bridport
