Brown belt Jiu-Jitsu - that means a lot

When one reaches the brown belt level in the traditional martial art Jiu-Jitsu at Ichinen Bridport that means a lot. Today Lewis A. Harris passed an excellent grading and holds now this precious grade. Lewis is an active member of Ichinen Bridport since 2014 and has a very good record of taking part in training sessions.

Lewis is at present our oldest fighter and at the age of 66 (sixtysix!) he can perform extraordinary good. His fitness is outstanding and Lewis is the only one in the moment who can do the full split at our club. Not many martial artists can do so.

For the brown belt / 1st Kyu Lewis trained 163 Jiu-Jitsu sessions since his last blue belt exam. Beside this he is a former Kyokushinkai Karate brown belt and a green belt holder in Krav Maga.

Earlier this year Lewis A. Harris passed his grading as a BlackCombat master under Grandmaster Horst D. Lindenau 6th Dan BlackCombat. BlackCombat represents the elite in modern self defence and not many qualify for a rank here.

We congratulate our new Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Lewis A. Harris and watch him on his path to become a 1st Dan.

A fighter needs to be healthy

To perform good martial arts one needs a perfect health.
How can I be and stay in good health?
Ichinen Bridport offers real life coaching too. Self defence is all about how to manage your own life effective and safe.

A few tips what to do:
1. Do a morning gymnastic. 6 days a week! Only takes 5 minutes.
2. Get always up early and eat a good healthy breakfast.
3. Never smoke and use any drugs, that includes tablets. Only drink very moderate.
4. Spend lots of time outdoors. Nature, walks, garden etc.
5. Train martial arts at least twice the week.

Just an idea...
