* Your training and engagement is shaping you. Therefore have trust in its teaching and if necessary be willing to make sacrifices
* The dojo is the place where you can do so and learn your skills. It shall be an un profane place for you. Show respect as you show respect to your own house.

* Pay homage to your teacher and follow his example and be a guide to your comrades.
* Take advice from higher grades and be patient and helpful to lower grades.

* “Ji ta kyo ei” >>> shall be the advise when training with equal students.
(“The best for me and the others”)
* “Seirykoku zenhyo” >>> shall lead your training as your life.
(“The maximum in physical and moral exertion”)

* Care for neat and clean tatami, Gi and your own body.
* Pay respect and great them well, your teacher and the higher grades.

* Defeat the same as victory in fighting shall urge you to perfection. A victory is not a reason for rest.

A fighter needs to be healthy

To perform good martial arts one needs a perfect health.
How can I be and stay in good health?
Ichinen Bridport offers real life coaching too. Self defence is all about how to manage your own life effective and safe.

A few tips what to do:
1. Do a morning gymnastic. 6 days a week! Only takes 5 minutes.
2. Get always up early and eat a good healthy breakfast.
3. Never smoke and use any drugs, that includes tablets. Only drink very moderate.
4. Spend lots of time outdoors. Nature, walks, garden etc.
5. Train martial arts at least twice the week.

Just an idea...

Miyamoto Musashi

"The true science of martial arts means practising them in such a way that they will be useful at any time and to teach them in such a way that they will be useful in all things."

Miyamoto Musashi

Miyamoto Musashi (宮本 武蔵?, c. 1584 – June 13, 1645), also known as Shinmen TakezōMiyamoto Bennosuke or, by his Buddhist nameNiten Dōraku was an expert Japanese swordsman and rōnin. Musashi, as he was often simply known, became renowned through stories of his excellent and unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in his 60 duels (next to 33 of Itō Ittōsai). He was the founder of the Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū or Niten-ryū style of swordsmanship and in his final years authored The Book of Five Rings (五輪の書Go Rin no Sho?), a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today

Body and mind must work together

"Without any philosophy or spirituality the martial art becomes meaningless and just a dangerous sport."                                                                           Bong Soo Han

Therefore love your enemies

Love and hate changes everything. Therefore love your enemies and hate your bad habits.
